Back in college, we had parties where we drank coffee and figured out how to modify our autoexec.bat and config.sys files to load as much stuff into upper memory as possible..
I only remember a couple of them. Or at least I try to block the rest out of memory. I know… baller, right?
I use to go into the config file and tell it to clear the screen and print, “by pressing any key you confess your ever undying love for Johnathon” and add a pause were they had to press any key to go on and use the computer. The reactions were priceless. You would just randomly hear a groan come from the computer room.

That was the modem interrupt to play the original Command and Conquer peer-to-peer. I’m pretty sure that replaces some important chemistry equation in my brain.
You reminded me of the good old days when you needed to know how to do things like that and edit your WIN.INI in order to play games. It was like forced learning and exploration!
