Tonight was a cool night for me. I’m up w Hartford having dinner with Deb Uscilka and Annie !
Anne O’Connor Gambina was my old boss back in New York. When I really really wanted to be a software teacher, she gave me a spot, sight unseen, when she was the Director of Education for New Horizons Learning Centers in Long Island. In short order allowed me to teach as much as I wanted and whatever I wanted. Day after day I went from Macromedia training to Adobe. CIW, A+ , Net+, MCSA MCDST Security, oracle, office apps. There wasn’t a topic she wouldn’t be like “Oh RC can do it.”
She was the one who encouraged me to meet up w her sister in law to be at a Photoshop World. Were it not for her prompting – I wouldn’t have met Stacy Spilkevitz O’Connor . I wouldn’t have taken that Photoshop class- and I wouldn’t have met Scott Kelby .
By believing in me she set the ball in motion – and I’m eternally grateful that she let me stretch my wings in her school. Such a blast to see her tonight.
